4th Grade Book Reports
These are OPTIONAL and only for students who are interested in this enrichment opportunity.
(This is an extra credit opportunity however, this is mostly for a child who is INTERESTED in this.)
Students will write a report on a single book from each of the five genres, 5 total, and create a fun project to present their book to their classmates.
The report will be part of their writing grade and the presentation will be a part of their speaking and listening grade. You can click on the genre name to download a second copy of the instructions, report forms and the rubric. The genres and timeline are as follows:

- September/October - Historical fiction due October 15th Oral presentation ready to present Oct. 22nd
- November/December - Non-fiction report due Dec. 10th Oral presentation ready to present Dec. 17th
- January/February - Newbery Award Nominee and/or winner Report due February 11th Oral presentation due February 25th
- March/April - Chapter Book of student's choice Report is due April 15th Oral presentation is due April 22nd
- May - Poetry Students choose, rewrite and illustrate 1 poem (10 or more verses) and orally present memorized poem Due June 3rd.
- All books need to be within the student's Accelerated Reader (A.R.) range to count. (Teachers can approve books outside of a student's level. Please contact me.)
- Once a student completes the book, they need to take an A.R. comprehension quiz, during school hours, and pass by at least 70%
